These Are Some Of Our Recent Rescues That Have Found New Forever Homes

Anna Belle

Annabelle spent more than 2 years at the L5YR helping kids and has found a home where she can retire and rest her sore legs. Several years ago she was riding in a trailer during a tragic accident that killed the driver. She was safely extracted from twisted metal cage by the jaws of life and several caring emergency workers. She still carries the scares on her leg from that terrible day, but she has touched lots of  lives and helped them through their own hurts.

*A special thanks to the Cass County Sheriff's Office for their help in some of our rescues!!!

Waccipa & Sugar

Waccipa & Sugar were rescued several years ago by a caring lady in Oregon. Unfortunately, due to some life challenges, she needed to find them a new home. They are now enjoying their new surroundings here at the ranch. These are pictures from a couple of years ago, we will have current pictures soon

Eddy

Eddy is a true character and a great tempered miniature donkey that was rescued by the previous owner but was surrendered along with Hershey when she became unable to care for them any longer. He is broke to both ride and drive and during his short stay, enjoyed giving rides to kids. He was quickly adopted by a loving couple and will spend the rest of his years loving on their grandchildren.

 Blaze

Blaze was rescued on 5/9/08 along with Dolly from a makeshift and unsafe home that had knee deep mud and surrendered by their owners. He is a halter broke little purebred Arabian gelding standing a little over 14 hands. A wonderful young lady who was helping us out began working with him and she quickly fell in love. It didn't take her long to adopt him and give him a great forever home.

Dolly

Dolly is a very quiet and tender Quarter Horse/Arabian mix mare that spent most of her early years running barrels in Colorado. After healing from a bad fetlock injury, she was retired from barrels, sold and brought to Nebraska.  When she arrived at the L5YR she had some medical and weight issues but with some TLC is now healthy and in great condition.  Dolly has found a terrific new home by Beatrice and will be enjoying her new life in the 4-H arena this summer.

Herbie

Herbie joined the ranch in December from Hooves and Paws Rescue in Glenwood, IA. He is a handsome Palomino with tremendous spunk and personality. He stands about 14.2 hands and is 17 yrs old.

-Update- Herbie has found a great forever home with several children to love him.
