How You Can Help
Becoming a part of the L5 Youth Ranch is becoming part of our family. Every person involved with us has the same passion to love children and love horses. Whether our family members are paid staff, volunteers, parents, visitors, children, or even horses, they are all equally important to us. If you are interested in joining us as a volunteer see the information below.
Those adults interested in giving their time at the ranch are welcome to complete and return our volunteer application (download version) volunteer application (online form) . We will keep your application information based on your volunteering interests, schedule, and skills. If your “profile” seems to fit a need we have, we will contact you and invite you to have a conversation with us either in person or on the phone. This informal meeting will give us a chance to get to know you better and go over any additional questions you may have.
Please note, all volunteers who work onsite with children will be required at no charge to apply for and pass a background check.
Explanation of Volunteer Areas
Builders are needed for fencing, barns, corrals, etc.
Energy Booster -
Artisan – someone to design logos for the ranch for t-shirts, hats, etc.
Professional Assistance – accounting, farrier services, vet services, landscaping
Prayer Team - people to pray for our program, children, and horses
Fund Raiser – people to come with ideas, organize, schedule, and run fundraising events
Hay Team – people to help with baling, stacking, etc.
Greeter – people to greet visitors, to talk to parents
Memory Maker – taking pictures
Green Thumb – planting, landscaping
Listener – someone to listen to kids, staff, or parents
Playpal – people just to play with the kids
Office Assistance – upkeep of databases and spreadsheets, organizing files, etc.
Session Instructor – leading children“Intern” – if you want to learn how to be of assistance in any of the other areas
Webpage Manager - someone to manage our webpage keep it updated
We are open to any other ideas for volunteer areas - if you have a special talent that isn't listed please contact us with your idea.
Donations
The L5 is always accepting donations of any kind. If you are interested in donating and would like more information about what kind of donations we are in need of please visit our Donations page.
We are classified as a 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service.
